Sam guides and speaks at the Dorion Birding Festival

This May, Samantha volunteered as a guide at the at the 10th annual Dorion’s Canyon Country Birding Festival held in NW Ontario. Over 130 bird-watchers from all over Ontario flocked (tee-hee) to see 100+ migrant species arrive on Lake Superior’s North shore during the two-day event and were not disappointed. Samantha gave a presentation about her studies in Puerto Rico and closed the festival with a slideshow featuring  over a hundred photos. The presentation was a highlight of the weekend, with many interested birders asking questions about her work and all “awww-ing” at photos of cute birds. Samantha loved the experience and hopes to be part of future birding events in NW Ontario.
