Lab undergrads present research
Birdsong lab undergraduates Jakica Cavar, Ashwin Gupta, Marlowe Lindsey, and Philip Dai presented their research at biology symposium at the University of Lethbridge on December 15, 2017. Jakica presented a phylogenetic analysis that revealed multiple independent evolutions of duetting behavior in wood-warblers. Ashwin discussed his efforts to use the acoustic analysis program Luscinia to automatically sort song types. Marlowe and Philip co-presented a talk about am experiment on song type matching and motor performance. All four students will be continuing their research projects in the Spring semester.
